Poem: Falling Apart

Speaking of subjects
That capture my boredom,
Let’s converse
About anything to
Avoid the curse
Of the truth.

We’re falling apart
Faster than DNA
Replicating,
But neither of us
Will inhale the air,
To ruin the lust,
The love,
The facade of perfection,
Because
We cannot,
Will not,
Admit that we need protection
From eachother,
Ourselves,
A collection of guards to hide
Our hearts from the truth
That we’re falling apart.
