Poem: You’re Breaking Me

He sees himself hanging from a balcony
And I feel myself hanging from a thread,
Waiting for fate to snip the cord to
My sanity, my heart, my head

The words that make you gasp for air,
Petrified that your world is gone,
That he’s gone.
That my sanity has fled on a dare.

On a twisted view of reality,
Just stay for me.
Be with me.
Don’t give up on me… on yourself.

I’m breaking just as fast as you
In the most painful of ways,
For I don’t want to leave the world,
I just want to stay. With you. Please.
You’re breaking me.
