Yesterday you told me that you struggled
With who, what, when, where but mainly why,
Why we wander, why we sleep,
Why we cry and scream and weep
When we don’t have to.
And I tried to reply with a lie
that we do because we must
And I suppose that broke your trust.
But, I guess, now would be
As good a time as any to tell you the truth.
We wander, sleep, weep, scream and cry
to ponder, creep, leap, dream and fly
Our way to each other. To happiness.
In all honesty, I was afraid to tell you,
That I do it for you,
That you give me meaning.
